P/E Ratio

Valuation

Where to find: Fundamental panels on StockNow, DSE mobile app, or TradingView’s “Financials → Valuation”.

Manual calc: Current market price ÷ trailing twelve-month EPS.

Signals: <12 → value entry candidates; 12–20 neutral; >25 requires growth visibility.

EPS Trend

Profitability

Where: Advanced chart → “Financials → Income Statement → EPS” line plot.

Calc: Net profit attributable ÷ weighted shares. Track CAGR over 3–5 years.

Signals: CAGR >15% with low volatility → growth; flat/declining warns against overpaying.

Dividend Yield

Income

Where: DSE quote page “Cash dividend” + current price, or TradingView dividend tab.

Calc: Annual cash dividend ÷ price × 100.

Signals: 3–6% with payout <70% → income-friendly; double digits often unsustainable.

Beta

Risk

Where: TradingView “Statistics” pane or StockNow risk tab.

Calc: Covariance(stock, DSEX) ÷ Variance(DSEX) using weekly returns.

Signals: β < 0.9 → defensive; 0.9–1.1 neutral; > 1.2 speculative/cyclical.

Debt-to-Equity

Leverage

Where: Balance-sheet panel → “Total debt” and “Shareholder equity”.

Calc: Interest-bearing debt ÷ equity.

Signals: <0.8 comfortable for manufacturers; >1.5 raises caution.

VWAP

Trading

Where: Overlay the VWAP indicator on intraday charts.

Calc: (Σ price × volume) ÷ Σ volume for each session.

Signals: Price above VWAP → strong demand/intraday momentum; below → supply heavy (useful for timing adds).

Yesterday’s Closing Price (YCP)

Basics

Where: DSE quotes display YCP next to current price.

Usage: Benchmark for day’s gain/loss; compare to VWAP to see if institutions are accumulating.

Signals: Current price consistently above YCP with volume → bullish sentiment.

Face Value

Corporate basics

Where: DSE company profile, IPO prospectus, or balance-sheet footnotes.

Usage: Needed to interpret rights/bonus announcements and book value per share.

Signals: Tk 10 is standard; Tk 100 often legacy banks/insurers—affects EPS comparability.

Relative Strength Index (RSI)

Momentum

Where: Technical indicator list → RSI(14).

Signals: <30 oversold (watch defensive entries), 30–70 neutral, >70 overbought (trim growth positions).

Simple Moving Average (MA)

Trend

Where: Overlay MA(50) / MA(200) on daily chart.

Signals: Price above MA(200) → long-term uptrend (growth); golden cross (50>200) confirms momentum.

Exponential Moving Average (EMA)

Trend

Where: Indicator list → EMA(20/50).

Signals: Price reclaiming EMA(20) after correction hints at institutional buying.

Reserves & Surplus

Balance sheet

Where: Equity section of balance sheet.

Usage: Indicates dividend-paying capacity and buffer for downturns.

Signals: Rising reserves with low leverage → defensive strength; shrinking reserves warn of stress.

Short-term Loan

Leverage

Where: Current liabilities section.

Signals: Spikes without revenue growth → working-cap stress; manageable for exporters with LC cycles.

Long-term Loan

Leverage

Where: Non-current liabilities.

Signals: Fixed-rate infrastructure loans suit long projects; fast buildup may hit dividends.

Market Depth

Order book

Where: StockNow “Depth” tab or broker terminal Level-2 view.

Usage: Observe bid/ask volume stacks to gauge liquidity.

Signals: Thick bids near VWAP support income/defensive adds; thin depth warns of speculative moves.

Block Trade

Transactions

Where: DSE block-market summary or broker blotter.

Usage: Tracks large negotiated deals—often sponsor exits or institutions building stakes.

Signals: Block above market → bullish accumulation; below market → potential overhang.
